The sound wails high then low, like a cat in the dead of night.

Jack and Ashley cling to each other in terror as they struggle to push images of screeching bats from their minds. In their search for eight-year-old Sammy, the two Landon kids have become completely lost in a twisted maze of tunnels deep inside Carlsbad Caverns National Park.

Jack tries to stay calm, but he can't take his eyes off the lantern. He knows it will be only a matter of minutes until the candle melts away, leaving them in total darkness. It is definitely time to panic!
